Federal judge rejects Darren Sharper plea deal Thursday, calls prison-sentence length ‘inappropriate’ _lowres

Darren Sharper has been removed from the William & Mary Athletics Hall of Fame.

Last month, Sharper agreed to plead guilty or no congtest to raping or attempting to rape nine women in four states.

"In light of Darren's recent guilty plea, we decided his removal was the right course of action," William & Mary Athletic Director Terry Driscoll said in a statement on athletic website.

Sharper was a three-time All-Yankee conference, two time Division I-AA All-America and one time conference defensive player of the year.
