Maybe small receivers are new wave for the Saints.
Miami wide receiver Phillip Dorsett might not look like much, standing 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, but he’s the kind of player who can rip the top off a defense.
Those traits are needed.
After trading away tight end Jimmy Graham and wide receiver Kenny Stills this offseason, New Orleans now has 209 targets and 1,820 yards of offense to replace. Whether it’s in the first or one of the later rounds, the Saints will likely look to add a new target for Drew Brees.
Dorsett fits the bill at pick No. 31. Using his blazing 4.2 speed, Dorsett caught 94 passes for 1,713 yards with 14 touchdowns over the past two seasons.
It’s easy to picture him, along with Brandin Cooks, causing mayhem for defensive coordinators.
Something says Brees would be OK with this outcome.
