FRIDAY: Rounds 2 and 3

SAINTS

Friday draft picks

Round 2: 12th pick (44th overall)

Round 3: 11th pick (75th overall)

Round 3: 14th pick (78th overall)

Whom could the Saints be looking at Friday?

LB/DE Randy Gregory, Nebraska

A FIRST ROUND-LEVEL TALENT WHOSE DRAFT STOCK DROPPED AFTER TESTING POSITIVE FOR MARIJUANA AT THE NFL SCOUTING COMBINE. HE’S JUST THE OUTSIDE RUSHER THE SAINTS NEED.

DT XAVIER COOPER, WASHINGTON STATE

Athletic, versatile talent who played tackle and end in college. Had 37 tackles with five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss. Likely third rounder.

LB ERIC KENDRICKS, UCLA

THE BUTKUS AWARD WINNER, KENDRICKS HAS GREAT SPEED AND RANGE BUT SIZE (6-0, 232) IS A LIABILITY. BROTHER MYCHAL KENDRICKS PLAYS ILB IN PHILADELPHIA. PROJECTED SECOND ROUNDER.

LB/DE HAU’OLI KIKAHA, WASHINGTON

A RELENTLESS PASS RUSHER, KIKAHA RECORDED AN FBS-LEADING 19 SACKS AND EARNED FIRST-TEAM ALL-AMERICAN HONORS. COULD GO IN SECOND OR THIRD ROUND.

TE MAXX WILLIAMS, MINNESOTA

The next Jimmy Graham? Turned pro after redshirt sophomore season (36 catches, 569 yards, eight TDs). Fast, but must work on separation. Second-rounder, possibly third.

LSU

Which Tigers could be picked Friday?

CB Jalen Collins

Earned numerous first-round projections before reports of failed drug tests at LSU relegated him to a day-two selection. Still, he should go quickly Friday.

DE DANIELLE HUNTER

AN EARLY ENTRY, HUNTER PACED LSU WITH 13 TACKLES FOR LOSS. A FREAKISH ATHLETIC SPECIMEN, SCOUTS SAY HE RELIES TOO MUCH ON TALENT OVER TECHNIQUE. SECOND OR THIRD ROUND.

LB KWON ALEXANDER

Another junior departure, Alexander led LSU with 90 tackles. Is lauded for his quickness but knocked for lack of field awareness. If he goes, likely in the third round.

LOCAL TIES

Former Dutchtown High standout Landon Collins is expected to be drafted Friday.
