New Orleans linebacker Ramon Humber missed most of the preseason with a minor undisclosed injury, an injury that kept him out of the final three preseason games.
Humber, who returned to limited work at practice before the third preseason game against the Texans, feels good as the season opener against Arizona looms.
Being a veteran makes the transition back to the playing field a little easier.
“It’s never easy,” Humber said. “It’s football. You’ve got to get yourself in shape, you’ve got to ready to play, mentally and physically. Either way, I’m ready for the test.”
Humber, who declined to discuss his injury, said he’s remained as involved as possible despite missing preseason time.
“You’ve just got to take mental reps, watch the film, just mentally be prepared,” Humber said. “Physically, it’s going to come, but mentally, as long as you know the right spot to get to, it’s going to take care of itself.”
