Keenan Lewis is still trying to battle his way through the recovery from surgery to repair a sports hernia.

And it has been difficult for Lewis to make a full return. After being limited in practice on Wednesday, Lewis did not practice in full team drills with the Saints Thursday.

Linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and David Hawthorne, the two players who’ve made starts at weak-side linebacker this season, were both held out of the Saints’ Thursday practice.

New Orleans is hoping one of the two can return. If not, rookieHenry Coley might be called up to the 53-man roster for depth purposes.

Rookie tackle Andrus Peat (knee) and offensive guard Mike McGlynn (not injury related) were the other two Saints who did not practice.
