Tulane swingman Josh Hearlihy is leaving the men’s basketball program, coach Ed Conroy said Friday.

Hearlihy was an option off the bench for the Green Wave the past two seasons, playing in 32 games during his two seasons at Tulane. As a sophomore, he averaged 9.7 minutes, scoring just 20 total points, pulling down 21 rebounds and recording 10 assists.

“We appreciate his contributions to our program,” Conroy said. “We certainly wish him the best.”

The departure opens up a spot for the Green Wave’s spring recruiting class, which is expected to bring in at least one player following the April 15 signing day. Shooting guard Kain Harris of Chicago (rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com) is committed to the Green Wave, expected to join fall signees Blake Paul and Taron Oliver.
