NEW ORLEANS — Thirteen Tulane men’s basketball players scored as the Green Wave rolled past Loyola 84-46 in an exhibition game Thursday night at Devlin Fieldhouse.

Samir Sehic had 11 points and nine rebounds off the bench and Ray Ona Embo had 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Jordan Cornish and Caleb Daniels added 10 points each.

As a team, Tulane shot 32 of 62 (51.6 percent) and 9 of 21 (42.9 percent) from 3-point range. The Green Wave led 47-23 at halftime and never trailed.

Tulane, which beat LSU in its first exhibition game, opens the season vs. LIU-Brooklyn at 7 p.m. next Friday.

Women’s basketball

Kayla Manuirirangi scored 15 points and every player on the Tulane women's basketball roster scored to lead the Green Wave past Loyola 78-48 in an exhibition game Thursday at the Devlin Fieldhouse.

Tulane made 19 of 34 shots in the second half and outscored Loyola 51-28 in the final 20 minutes. A run of eight consecutive points from senior Kolby Morgan on two 3-pointers and a jumper extended Tulane’s lead to 17 points late in the third quarter.

The Green Wave led for 36 minutes of the contest and had a lead as large as 34 late in the fourth quarter.
