AUSTIN, Texas — Jarret DeHart hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning, powering Tulane past Texas 3-2 in the completion of a game that began Friday night.

Texas came back to win Saturday’s regularly scheduled game 10-3 to even the three-game series being played at Disch-Falk Field.

For Tulane (12-7), Corey Merrill started Friday night’s contest, which was suspended in the top of the third inning with the score tied 1-1.

Ross Massey (2-1) took the mound Saturday and went the rest of the way.

Massey allowed one run on five hits and struck out seven. He retired Texas (8-11) in order in the final three innings after DeHart’s home run.

Texas took the lead in the bottom of the third after Travis Jones led off with a double. Jones came around to score on two consecutive ground outs.

The score was unchanged until the seventh when Jake Willsey singled with two outs. DeHart followed with a home run to right field.

The second game started with more Tulane offense as the Wave took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Texas fought back with three runs in the second inning and four in the third, and never relinquished the lead.
