After years of waiting, Tulane fans can start mapping out fall calendars for college football in Uptown New Orleans.

The Green Wave released its full schedule Tuesday for the program’s inaugural season in the new Yulman Stadium. Tulane will play its six home games on campus for the first time since 1974.

After 16 years in Conference USA, Tulane is moving to the American Athletic Conference. The Green Wave opens the season Aug. 30 at Tulsa. Tulane will face seven teams who appeared in bowl games a year ago: Georgia Tech, Duke, Rutgers, Central Florida, East Carolina and Cincinnati.

“This is a very demanding and challenging schedule, but one we will be prepared to play,” Tulane coach Curtis Johnson said.

“I am looking forward to stepping foot in our new stadium on Sept. 6 and cannot wait to start league play. This is going to be a fantastic league with great teams and will quickly be considered one of the best in the country.”

The Green Wave, off its first bowl appearance since 2002, will host a season finale (against Temple) for the first time since 2004. Tulane will have three bye weeks: Oct. 4, Oct. 25 and Nov. 29.

The Oct. 25 bye breaks up a three-game stretch against the league’s best teams, coming between a road date at Central Florida and consecutive games against Cincinnati and at Houston.

The Green Wave’s home game against Cincinnati on Friday, Oct. 31,will be shown on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

Premium tickets are available for purchase but require an annual donation of at least $1,500 per seat to the Tulane Athletics Fund.
