Five observations from Thursday’s practice:

1 Tulane appeared in its new uniforms on Thursday, the first time local media has gotten a chance to see the updated threads, complete with American Athletic Conference patches.

2 Green Wave linebacker Jarrod Franklin said he tore his MCL, ACL and meniscus in knee during spring practice but is still hopeful he can return to practice before the season starts. Doctors have not yet cleared him.

3 Thursday was Tulane’s last practice of the NCAA’s require acclimation period — in shorts and shoulder pads — allowing the Green Wave to hold its first full contact practice on Friday.
