KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. – Connecticut’s defending champion men’s and women’s basketball teams will both be playing at Tulane next season in the Green Wave’s first in the American Athletic Conference.

The AAC, which is having its spring meetings, announced the pairings for 2014-15 on Wednesday. The exact dates will be announced in August or September.

The UConn men's basketball team will be the first defending NCAA men's basketball national champions to play at Tulane since Louisville in 1981.

Green Wave Athletic Director Rick Dickson on Wednesday said it has not been decided if the game will be played at Devlin Arena or the Smoothie King Center, but “we’re definitely doing something special with the game"

Other home conference opponents for the Tulane men are Central Florida, Cincinnati, Houston, Memphis, South Florida, Southern Methodist, Temple and Tulsa. The Green Wave will play all of those schools on the road except SMU. East Carolina will be Tulane’s other conference road game.

The entire women’s conference schedule for the league will be released later Wednesday.
