Tulane senior Royce LaFrance and junior Chris Taylor were selected to the Lombardi Award Watch List on Tuesday.

The Lombardi Award is given annually to the player voted as the best lineman or linebacker in college football.

LaFrance and Taylor join 145 players on the list, including 12 from the American Athletic Conference.

LaFrance, a 6-foot-3, 259-pound defensive end from Harvey, started 11 of 12 games last season and claimed third-team All-AAC honors from College Sports Madness and Phil Steele. The former Helen Cox standout also earned second-team All-Louisiana accolades.

A 6-2, 320-pound guard from Baker, Taylor started 18 of 24 games, including all 12 last season, for the Wave. Last season, former Zachary High School star claimed second-team honors in the AAC from Phil Steele Publications. He helped the offense average 346.8 yards per game (145.5 rushing, 201.25 passing).
