Albuquerque, N.M. — The New Orleans Zephyrs scored a season-high nine runs and won their third consecutive game in defeating the Albuquerque Isotopes 9-2 in front of 13,127 fans at Isotopes Park.
Tomas Telis led the 15-hit attack with four hits and an RBI. Robert Andino added two hits and three RBIs, including a two-run home run. Former LSU star Austin Nola added a pair of hits and three RBIs.
The Z’s (18-23) took the lead with a run in the second inning, but Isotopes catcher Tom Murphy drilled a two-run home run in the fourth inning to give Albuquerque a 2-1 lead.
The Topes’ lead was brief. The Zephyrs scored a pair of runs in the fifth and added three in the sixth and ninth innings.
Dylan Axelrod earned the win, pitching 5.1 innings and allowing two runs on four hits.
The Z’s added pitcher Dylan Axelrod from Class A Batavia and placed pitcher Greg Nappo on the disabled list.
The Zephyrs continue the eight-game road-trip at 1:35 p.m. Sunday in Albuquerque. The Zephyrs will start Chris Narveson against Jeff Hoffman. ... The Zephyrs’ next home game will be Monday’ against Reno Aces. The Z’s will be home for an eight game series.
