Memphis, Tenn. — Isaac Galloway drilled his first career Triple-A home run and had three RBIs as the Zephyrs won their third consecutive game in Memphis 7-0 on Sunday.
The Zephyrs chased St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Jamie Garcia in the third inning. Garcia on a major league rehab assignment faced nine hitters in the third and allowed five runs on four hits. The Z’s got a two run double from Vinny Rottino and Galloway singled to score a pair in the inning.
The Zephyrs offense pounded out 14 hits including a season high six doubles. Cole Gillespie has a team-high three hits.
Pat Misch struggled with his control, but limited Memphis to two hits in six innings. He walked a season-high seven batters, but was helped by two double plays, while managing to keep the Redbirds off the scoreboard.
James Nygren worked the final three innings and earned the save.
New Orleans won four of six on the road trip and looks for a sweep of Memphis on Monday. The Zephyrs have not swept the Redbirds in Memphis since 2011.
Miguel Rojas extended his hitting streak to nine games, with Rottino and Gillespie pushing their streaks to eight games, while Brady Showmaker upped his seven. Shoemaker celebrated his 28th birthday with an RBI double.
Zephyrs improved to 16-7 all-time on Mother’s Day and 9-3 against left-handed starters.
