Nashville , Tenn. — The Nashville Sounds’ Jimmy Nelson, who leads the Pacific Coast League in wins and is second in ERA, limited the Zephyrs to three hits over seven scoreless innings, and the bullpen handled the rest in the Sounds’ 5-0 victory Friday night at that evened the series at a game apiece.

In the fifth inning, Jeremy Hermida singled home Jason Rogers, who had tripled, to give Nashville a 1-0 lead. Hermida delivered again in the sixth, launching a two-run homer that made it 4-0.

Zephyrs starter Bryan Evans (4-5) lasted five innings, allowed one run and two hits. He filled in as a spot starter after Brian Flynn was promoted to the Miami Marlins.

Notes: Christian Yelich, on an MLB rehab assignment, was hitless in four at-bats. ... In the move that sent Flynn to the Marlins, first baseman Justin Bour was optioned to New Orleans. ... The teams meet again at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. The Zephyrs are scheduled to start left-hander Adam Conley (2-2, 4.08 ERA) against Nashville righty Taylor Jungmann (3-4, 6.17).
