NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Matt Carson led off the bottom of ninth inning with a double, and with one out, Issac Galloway misplayed a ball in centerfield, which allowed Kent Matthes to drive in the game-winning run in Nashville’s 2-1 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs in Pacific Coast League baseball action Tuesday.
New Orleans scored the game’s first run on a solo home run from Brady Shoemaker.
The Sounds tied the game in the fifth inning with a leadoff double by Andy Parrino and a base hit from Luke Carlin.
The Sounds out-hit the Zephyrs 10-5 and left 12 men on base.
New Orleans starter Adam Conley woent six innings, allowing one run on five hits in the no-decision. RJ Alvarez earned the win in relief, and Nick Wittgren took the loss.
The Zephyrs have an off day on Wednesday and open a eight-game homestand on Thursday against El Paso.
