FRESNO, Calif. — Jack Mayfield hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, leading the Fresno Grizzlies to a 6-4 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes late Wednesday night.

Jordan Jankowski got Moises Sierra to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his ninth save of the season.

The home run by Mayfield capped a three-run inning and gave the Grizzlies a 6-4 lead after J.D. Davis hit an RBI double earlier in the inning.

Brendan McCurry (4-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief, while Brandon Cunniff (2-3) took the loss.

Christian Colon and Chad Hinshaw homered for the Baby Cakes, who faced Fresno again late Thursday night.
