COLORADO SPRINGS — The Sky Sox sent 11 batters to the plate in the fifth inning, scoring seven runs in a win over the Zephyrs.

Jason Middlebrooks led the Sky Sox attack with four hits and two runs batted in, as the Sky Sox pounded out 17 hits, a season-high allowed by New Orleans.

The Zephyrs led 4-1 after Xavier Scruggs drilled a two-run double off the wall in the top of the fifth inning. Sox scored seven in the bottom of the inning and added four runs in the sixth.

Hiram Burgos gets the win, pitching five innings.

The Zephyrs committed a season-high five errors, leading to four unearned runs.

New Orleans starter Kendry Flores allowed seven runs on 10 hits in 4.1 innings.

The Zephyrs dropped to 37-42, and the Sky Sox improved to 40-38.

The Zephyrs hit a season-high seven doubles.

New Orleans added pitcher Kendry Flores from Jacksonville and promoted pitcher Justin Nicolino to Miami.

The Zephyrs continue the trip in Colorado Springs on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. New Orleans will start RHP Dylan Axelrod against RHP Wily Peralta.
