Thursday: Zephyrs 4, Redbirds 1 _lowres


LAS VEGAS — Cory Vaughn drilled a pinch hit two-run, ninth-inning home run to give the Las Vegas 51’s a 10-8 win over the New Orleans Zephyrs on Saturday at Cashman Field.

It was the third consecutive win for the 51’s.

Kyle Jensen had a big night for the Zephyrs, getting two hits and four RBIs. Jensen’s two-run homer in the fifth inning gave the Z’s an 8-7 lead, but the 51’s tied the contest in the sixth inning.

Jensen is tied for third in the PCL with 26 home runs and leads the league with 85 RBIs.

The Zephyrs continue their eight day road-trip on Sunday at 8 p.m. against Salt Lake at Smith’s Ballpark.

The Zephyrs will start Brian Flynn (8-9, 3.98) against Randy Wolf (5-2, 4.68).
