One of the best modern blues musicians will play in May in Lafayette.

Gary Clark Jr. will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. Tickets for members of the downtown Lafayette venue go on sale Thursday, Feb. 8. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 9. Cost is $42 standing room only, $70 for the mezzanine.

Clark is a Grammy-winning artist who has shared the stage with greats such as Eric Clapton, B.B. King and the Rolling Stones. At this year's Grammys, Clark joined Jon Batiste onstage to pay tribute to Chuck Berry and Fats Domino

In a 2013 profile in Rolling Stone, legendary blues musician Buddy Guy said Clark is "as good as it gets." There's no higher endorsement than that, folks.

Last year, Clark released a live album, featuring performances from his 2016 North American tour. He most recently covered the Beatles' song "Come Together," which was included on the "Justice League" soundtrack.
