Cox Communications has launched YurView Louisiana, the company announced Wednesday.

The new channel replaces local origination station Cox 4 in South Louisiana.

YurView Louisiana will continue Cox 4’s local sports and community programming, and add regional and national features. The new line-up will include coverage of the American Athletic Conference and weekly analysis of the upcoming NCAA basketball tournament, a news release says.

“YurView Louisiana will feature a better picture quality, an HD viewing option and the same great, award-winning high school football shows, plus great college sports additions,” Rod Mickler, vice president of production for Cox Communications, said in the release.

YurView Louisiana will air on channels 4 and 1004 on the Cox channel lineup in all three of Cox’s South Louisiana markets: Acadiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

"Dash to the Desert" will feature debate and analysis around the NCAA Tournament, starting after Selection Sunday March 12, and leading up to the championship game. The show will air at 10 p.m. Sundays and then repeat at 8:30 p.m. Mondays, and 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the tournament.
