The Youngsville Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a forum Wednesday on issues facing voters in the Oct. 22 and Nov. 19 elections.

The forum is scheduled 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 3555 Verot School Road.

Topics include:

e_SBlt Consolidation versus deconsolidation, presented by city-parish charter commissioners Don Bacque and Bruce Conque.

e_SBlt The proposed Youngsville Sports Complex, presented by Youngsville Mayor Wilson Viator.

e_SBlt The Lafayette Parish School Board tax proposal, presented by District 9 School Board member Rae Trahan.

Fiddlers on the Bayou

The fourth annual Fiddlers on the Bayou performance will be held Thursday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Vermilionville Performance Center.

The event features the different fiddle styles of musicians David Greely, Mitch Reed, Anya Burgess Carmen D’Entremont, Curry Perkins and Chris Segura.

Cultural workers event

The Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation holds its LA Fête Lafayette 2011 on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Trynd, 116 E. Vermilion St.

The event features entertainment by New Orleans jazz musician Kermit Ruffins and Lafayette songwriter Rex Moroux, a silent auction, food and cocktails.

Proceeds benefit the foundation, which provides access to health-care and economic development services for Louisiana’s cultural workforce.

Jazz quartet to perform

The John Pizzarelli Quartet performs at 8 p.m. Friday at the Acadiana Center for the Arts’ James Devin Moncus Theatre.

Seven-mile garage sale

Arnaudville and Grand Coteau’s Seven Mile Garage Sale on Saturday from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. extends to Sunset this year.

The sale runs along La. 31 in Arnaudville to La. 93 E.

Gift shops in the three towns also offer special sales during the event.

St. Mary history festival

Voices of the Past, a celebration of St. Mary Parish history, will be held this weekend in Franklin.

The event includes the stage production of “What a Ride!”, about the area’s history, and cemetery and historic home tours.
