Scott police discovered a meth lab Thursday when they executed a search warrant on a St. Mary Street house, and they arrested two people living there.
When officers conducted a search of a house in the 1200 block of St. Mary Street, they found a variety of drugs, including meth, prescription medication, marijuana and lot of drug paraphernalia, a release from the Scott Fire Department says.
Officers called the fire department’s hazardous material response team after they encountered what appeared to be a clandestine meth lab and a bag of chemicals, the release says.
The response team confirmed that officers had found a lab and recovered flammable and corrosive liquids, acids, allergy medications and several other items used to make meth, the release says.
Police booked both residents of the home, Jason Bedsole, 37, of Lafayette, and Sarah Fournet, 30, of DeRidder, into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center each on counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II Drugs, possession of Schedule I Drugs, possession of Schedule III Drugs, possession of Schedule IV Drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation of a clandestine lab, and possession of a legend drug — a prescription drug.
