LAFAYETTE – A Duson man pleaded guilty Tuesday to manslaughter for killing his domestic partner, according to the 15th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Clayton Matthews Jr., 30, was accused of beating and strangling Randy Bordelon Jr. in March when returning home after an argument at a truck-stop casino in Duson, prosecutor Pat Magee said in a news release.

Matthews faces up to 20 years in prison under a sentencing cap approved as part of the plea agreement, Magee said.

No sentencing date has been set.
