LAFAYETTE — A Vernon Parish man was sentenced this week to six years in federal prison for possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley said in a news release.
Francis M. Buckner, 41, of New LLano, also was ordered by federal district court Judge Richard Haik to register as a sex offender once he leaves prison.
When he pleaded guilty on July 17, Buckner admitted to possessing 36 videos and 144 images of child pornography, which he obtained through a porn-sharing downloading program, Finley said.
Finley said investigators found “Buckner had downloaded sadistic material depicting bondage and other sexually explicit scenes involving prepubescent children onto his computer.”
The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and by State Police.
Finley said the case was part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood, which seeks to stem the growing problem of exploitation of children.
