Cooking teams have until Friday to enter the Ninth annual Brudley’s Wild Game Cook-off that benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs — Iberia Unit.

The cook-off event will be held from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Sugarena in New Iberia. Guests will be able to taste wild game and seafood dishes, jambalaya and desserts and dance to live music by Keith Frank and Jamie Bergeron and the Bad Boys. A reptile exhibit, face painting, trick-or-treating and a costume contest are also part of the event. Sponsorships are also available.

Tickets are $20 per person, $10 for children 6 to 12 years old and free for children 5 and under.

Delta Waterfowl banquet

The Acadiana Chapter of Delta Waterfowl will hold its annual banquet Thursday at River Oaks, 520 E. Kaliste Saloom Road.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event features dinner, raffles and silent and live auctions.

Banquet tickets are $55 per person, $75 per couple and $450 for a reserved table of eight. Price includes meal, drinks (including an open bar), and a one-year membership to Delta Waterfowl.

The banquet supports waterfowl management on public, private and corporate lands and preserving the tradition of waterfowl hunting.

Festival of Virtues

The Festival of Virtues, a family friendly event that celebrates local youth, will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 600 Carmel Drive.

The event is hosted by the Allen J. Celestine Foundation and includes games, activities that showcase the talent of local youth, live music and refreshments.

The event also features Zoo-Zoom — The Little Zoo on Wheels, performances by Dancing — A Place with a Purpose, and demonstrations by Cajun Karate.

The event is free and open to the public.

Boudin cook-off Saturday

Where’s the boudin? Plenty of it will be downtown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Parc Sans Souci during the fourth annual Boudin Cook-off.

The free event features boudin sampling from cook-off contestants, a boudin eating contest, music by Sons of Voodoo and The Howdies, free fun jumps and face painting.

Boudin sampling begins at 10 a.m. and sample tickets are 50 cents each. Proceeds benefit the Historic Preservation Alliance of Lafayette.

Suicide awareness walk

The Fifth annual Out of Darkness Community Walk for suicide awareness will be held Saturday in Girard Park.

Onsite registration is at 8 a.m. with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m.

The event is free, but donations will be accepted. An auction with a raffle of items donated by local businesses is also part of the event.
