LAFAYETTE — The stories of Edgar Allan Poe will be staged at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for a special performance for middle and high school students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Burke-Hawthorne Hall.

The performance of “An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe” is another installment of the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana’s 2011-12 Daytime Student Performance Series.

PASA has joined with ULL School of Music and Performing Arts students for the performance which features Poe’s short stories, “The Cask of Amontillado” and “The Tell-Tale Heart,” along with lesser-known works, “The Oblong Box and “The System of Dr. Tarr” and “Professor Fether.”

A question-and-answer session will follow for students to interact with the university cast.

Tickets are $7 per student.

Those who register classes early will receive 10 tickets for teachers or chaperones at no additional cost.
