LAFAYETTE — A New Iberia man was sentenced this week to nearly 20 years in prison on a federal child pornography charge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Jason Daniel Scott, 30, of New Iberia, had pleaded guilty in July.

Federal prosecutors wrote in court filings that Scott was nabbed in an investigation into pornography and the sharing of child pornography over the Internet. Agents found videos on Scott’s computer of prepubescent children engaged in sexual activities with adult men, according to court filings.

U.S. District Judge Richard Haik on Monday sentenced Scott to 235 months in federal prison and 10 years of supervised release following the prison term.
