Lafayette Parish residents will experience one-day delays in garbage and recycling pickup through Jan. 6 because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
The holiday schedule will affect customers on all days of the week, with those who typically receive Friday service being knocked back to Saturday. Normal service is to resume Jan. 8.
Natural Christmas trees will be collected with garbage, and should be cleaned of all lights, ornaments and wooden stands, the city-parish government said in a news release.
Republic will collect holiday-related excess garbage outside 96-gallon carts, so long as it is bagged individually and does not exceed 35 pounds per bag. Excess bags should not be placed on cart lids, the city-parish said.
