SolScapes, a Rapides Parish business that maintains rights-of-way for utility and pipeline companies, will make a $2 million capital investment that will create 40 jobs.
The jobs at the company will have an average annual salary of $28,000 plus benefits, according to Louisiana's economic development department. SolScapes, which is based in Lecompte, currently has 35 employees.
LED said the expansion will add 14 indirect jobs in central Louisiana.
“We are committed to effectively and efficiently providing a reliable and safe operation to assist the progress of utility companies in right-of-way tree and vegetation management services,” said SolScapes owner Iviana Stewart. “We value our partnerships with the utility companies and we aim to exceed our commitments in an effort to improve and maintain utility service reliability.”
The company plans to utilize Louisiana’s Enterprise Zone incentive, which includes a tax credit of up to $3,500 for each new job created.
