Four males speeding north in a stolen car on Brothers Road in Scott ran off the road and crashed into a tree early Monday, ejecting three who were transported to Lafayette General Medical Center in critical condition, officials said.
A fourth male, a juvenile, was treated for a fractured elbow before being released from University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette, according to a news release by the Scott Police Department.
The other three, including the 22-year-old driver, Alfred Victor, remained sedated and in critical condition at Lafayette General on Monday afternoon.
So far there have been no arrests, though charges are pending. Officers also found a stolen firearm at the accident scene, the news release says.
The wreck occurred around 1 a.m. just north of the intersection of Brothers Road and Roper Drive. Scott police believe Victor was driving too fast and lost control, careening to the east and striking the tree.
The passenger in the front seat was identified as 17-year-old Tylon Morrison. The identities of the juveniles, both seated in the rear of the car, were not released.
