Former Acadia Sheriff spokesperson arrested on theft

The former spokesperson for the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office has entered a no contest plea in the case accusing her of stealing from an elderly woman she was supposed to be taking care of.

Maxine Trahan, 58, who was accused of stealing more than $46,000 from an 80-year-old Duson woman, was given a suspended sentence.
