OPELOUSAS — An Opelousas man who made 18 calls to 911 Saturday was rude and aggressive toward ambulance personnel, and refused help each time paramedics showed up at his Cimmaron Drive home, officials said.

Olan “Arlen” Deville, 63, was booked into the St. Landry Parish jail on 18 counts of criminal mischief and public intimidation.

“Due to Mr. Deville’s aggressiveness toward the paramedics, a deputy was requested each time Mr. Deville requested medical attention,” Sheriff’s Office Capt. Megan Vizena said.

Bail for Deville was set at $6,500.
