EUNICE — State Police are investigating a police-involved shooting injury that began with a domestic dispute and led to the lockdowns of two schools around noon Thursday.
At 12:02 p.m., Eunice officers responded to a residence near South 9th Street and West Park Avenue in reference to a domestic dispute, Master Trooper Brooks E. David said in a news release.
Shortly after the officers arrived, a traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle with the suspect inside. At some point during the traffic stop, the suspect brandished a firearm, David said. The suspect was shot by at least one police officer and was transported to the hospital, where he is being treated.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no more information available at this time, David said.
