LAFAYETTE — Police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Jamison Nathaniel Kalaiti, who is wanted on counts of aggravated rape and unauthorized use of a movable.

Police said in a news release that Kalaiti, 21, attacked the known victim and struck her with several objects before he forcefully raped her.

The woman’s age was not released. She was treated and released at a local hospital, the release said.

Anyone with information as to Kalaiti’s whereabouts is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.

LAFAYETTE — A 58-year-old Lafayette man died Saturday from injuries he suffered during an Oct. 1 crash, police said in a news release Tuesday.

Antoine V. Pierre was struck by a truck while traveling against traffic in the 3800 block of Johnston Street, police said.

Investigators said the truck was turning right onto Johnston Street from Marilyn Drive when he struck Pierre’s bicycle.

The crash remains under investigation.
