A police officer in Breaux Bridge was arrested Thursday and booked on counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Craig David, 29, also faces counts of computer aided solicitation of a minor and malfeasance in office, according to a news release from the Louisiana State Police.
The allegations were brought to the attention of the state police through a report by Breaux Bridge Police Chief Rollie Cantu, who was alerted to the accused sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old by one of his officers.
Investigators determined that the alleged misconduct started as early as December, 2016, according to the release. David was arrested and booked in the St. Martin Parish Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
