Lafayette man wanted in shooting surrenders to deputies _lowres

An arrest warrant has been issued for Jhailen Trevon Zeno, 20, of Lafayette, according to a news release issued by Cpl. Paul Mouton of the Lafayette Police Department.

Zeno is wanted for attempted second-degree murder in an incident that occurred the afternoon of Oct. 11, in the 100 block of Van Buren Drive. Zeno is believed to be the shooter in that incident in which a 24-year-old male was injured. The victim was standing outside when Zeno allegedly approached him on foot, demanded money and then began shooting with a handgun.

The victim was struck multiple times, and Zeno allegedly fled the scene.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition.
