A 17-year-old boy from Lafayette was arrested Friday in the killing of a woman Thursday on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
Police said Shawntrell Sampy is responsible for the killing, which happened in the 800 block of Martin Luther King.
Marisha M. Felix, 24, was found dead in a car around 7:50 p.m. Thursday, police previously said. It appeared that the car crashed but it was also marked with several bullet holes.

Police have not released details about possible connections between Sampy and Felix or a motive for the killing.
Investigators located the teen in the 100 block of Lebesque Road without incident. He was booked in Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count of second-degree murder.
