A grand jury this week indicted a Lafayette chef and culinary teacher who is accused of stealing money from an elderly, disabled person, court records show.

Carlos Russo, 59, who is a co-owner of The Accidental Chef Cooking School, allegedly stole the person’s money “through the execution of a fraudulent or deceitful scheme” from December 2012 until June 2014, according to the indictment handed up by a Lafayette Parish grand jury Wednesday.

The victim is not identified in the indictment.

Calls seeking comment made to Lafayette and New York phone numbers listed on The Accidental Chef’s website were not returned Thursday.

Arraignment for Russo will be Nov. 18 in the Lafayette Parish Courthouse.
