Lafayette police have arrested two men in a Wednesday shooting outside an apartment complex that left one man dead and another person injured.
Walter Fleanders, 37, of Lafayette, surrendered to authorities Thursday morning on one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder, according to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Police on Wednesday booked Harry James Lewis Jr., 45, of Thibodeaux, on the same counts.
Capt. John Babin, Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said the two men are accused of firing into a car with four people inside around 2:30 p.m. outside the Ile des Cannes apartment complex.
Jason Ross, 28, of Lafayette, died in the shooting in the the 500 block of Berlin Street. One person was injured.
