A Lafayette man was shot and killed after an argument early Monday on Duval Street in Lafayette, according to police.
The Lafayette Police Department, in a news release, identified the victim as Christopher J. Isaac, 51, of Lafayette.
Police gave this account of the shooting:
Around 2:25 a.m. Monday, police were called to a shooting in the 200 block of Duval Street. According to witnesses, Isaac answered a knock at the door of his residence and was confronted by another man. The two men began to argue, at which time the man who knocked on the door produced a gun and shot Isaac one time.
The gunman fled the area on foot. Isaac was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
