Two Opelousas men accused of beating, robbing and then shooting at a man on Park Street have surrendered to authorities on counts of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Lamen Jimmerson, 28, and Coby James Thomas, 23, were named as suspects in the Sunday incident in a Crime Stoppers segment Wednesday on KATC-TV.

Jimmerson surrendered on Thursday afternoon and Thomas on Wednesday.

The two are accused of shooting 9mm rounds at the victim as he ran away after he was beaten and robbed of hundreds of dollars in cash, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Clay Higgins said. Deputies located drugs at the scene of the crime, and more arrests may be forthcoming, Higgins said.

Both men remained in the St. Landry Parish jail Thursday afternoon.
