About 1,300 graduates will receive diplomas from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette during fall 2014 commencement ceremonies scheduled Dec. 19.

A general assembly takes place at 11 a.m. at the Cajundome Convention Center, while individual colleges will hold ceremonies throughout the day at different locations on campus. During the general assembly, the university will recognize the Alumni Association’s overall outstanding graduate for the semester.

Darrell Bourque, a former Louisiana poet laureate and UL-Lafayette professor emeritus of English, will be the commencement speaker at the general assembly.

Master’s and bachelor’s degrees will be conferred at ceremonies for each academic college. A schedule and locations are below.

4 p.m. — College of Liberal Arts
