Lake Charles flooding

Lake Charles Police found one man dead inside of a submerged car in the aftermath of Monday’s torrential storms, marking state's the third official storm-related death, the Louisiana Department of Health confirmed Wednesday.

Officials with the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office said it is the city’s first-flood related death..

The 61-year-old man was found Tuesday inside of a vehicle stuck in a ditch in a low-lying area on East Prien Lake Road, according to a report from KATC. 

Two other storm-related deaths were confirmed on Tuesday. One person was found dead in a flooded vehicle on Bluebonnet Boulevard near the Mall of Louisiana in East Baton Rouge. Another was killed after a car crashed into a ditch, submerging the vehicle, in Port Allen in West Baton Rouge Parish.
