KELLY — The National Weather Service in Shreveport says the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office has reported a tornado near Kelly.
Meteorologist Mario Valverde says there also were reports Tuesday of fallen trees and golf ball-sized hail in the area. He says the tornado was reported about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.

He says a survey crew will go to the area Wednesday to check whether the damage is from a tornado or straight-line winds, since that sort of damage also was reported.
The National Weather Service expecting severe weather Tuesday night reported a tornado watch until 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Showers over the southwest part of Mississippi and to the north of Baton Rouge were being monitored by the weather service for chances of strengthening.
