Breaux Bridge High point guard Caitlin Davis committed to McNeese State on Friday.
The 5-foot-8 Davis averaged 15 points, seven assists and three rebounds per game while helping the Tigers win the District 5-4A title and advancing to the quarterfinals last spring as a junior. She plans to sign during the NCAA’s early signing period in November.
“It was a good fit for me and my family,” Davis said. “I wanted to be close enough to home so that my family will be able to come watch me play.
“(McNeese) is like one big family and it’s a nice school. I really liked it there when I visited.”
Davis also had attracted interest from Louisiana-Lafayette and Arkansas-Little Rock.
Breaux Bridge defeated St. Michael the Archangel 47-44 in the second round of the playoffs before losing 52-41 to Edna Karr in the quarterfinals.
