Runners, both professional and amateur, look forward to the annual Mardi Gras Mambo, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 25. The one-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 10K race starts at 9 a.m. The event, sponsored by Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation, begins and ends at the Belle of Baton Rouge downtown.

“This is our 14th annual Mambo,” said Jerry Stovall, president and CEO of BRASF. “We had more than 1,300 runners last year, and we expect an even better turnout this year. We’re looking forward to another great run.”

Early registration (now through Feb. 24) for the 10K race is $25. Race-day registration is $40. Regular registration for the fun run is $10. Go to for more details.
