SHREVEPORT — Despite rain and cool temperatures during the first few days that kept people away, a sunny weekend saw the grounds of the Louisiana State Fair jammed, The Associated Press reported Monday.
General Manager Chris Giordano said with 3,000 plus fairgoers on Saturday alone, the event might be on par with its usual first two-day numbers.
Giordano said with the perfect weather for the opening last year, he’s certain the numbers will be down slightly.
Giordano says they’re expecting over 400,000 people during the run of the fair.
The 105th annual State Fair opened on Thursday and continues through Nov. 13.
