A Baton Rouge man accused of raping a 13-year-old girl last year has been arrested, according to an arrest warrant.
Delvin Puckett, 18, 15156 Gwen Drive, was booked Tuesday by Baton Rouge police with forcible rape, parish jail records show.
According to the warrant, the victim was trying to hide from a group of girls who she said were trying fight her in March 2011.
The victim ran into Puckett, who she knew from her neighborhood, and he told her that they could hide from the girls in a vacant apartment, according to the warrant.
Puckett raped the girl after she refused his request for sex, the warrant says. The victim, still afraid of being beat up by the group of girls, said Puckett threatened to make her go outside if she didn’t have sex with him.
Following the rape, Puckett told the victim not to tell anyone about what happened, according to the warrant.
