The Foundation for Historical Louisiana will sponsor a community open house from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2 at the Old Governor’s Mansion, 502 North Blvd., during the Downtown Festival of Lights, a news release says.
A donation of non-perishable items for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will be collected.
The mansion will be decorated for the holidays through underwriting by LUBA Workers’ Compensation and there will be a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be available for $10.
The formal dining room of the 1930s mansion will be turned into a Museum Shop with a range of items — jewelry, Christmas collectibles, books and Louisiana specialties for early holiday shopping.
